OSAT World History Geography Exam


OSAT World History/Geography exam is administered by CEOE. CEOE programs these tests in order to make sure that the examinee has the skills and knowledge to become an educator in social studies in Oklahoma public schools. The certification in OSAT World History/Geography tests the candidate’s ability to understand the relationships between world history and geography. The candidate will have to integrate his/her knowledge of these subjects for answering the questions correctly.

Eligibility for OSAT World History/Geography Test (018)

To appear in OSAT World History/Geography Test, the candidate should meet all the eligibility conditions prescribed by the board. The candidate should be a graduate in the respective field.

Syllabus for OSAT World History/Geography Test (018)

The test is based on two major subjects.

  1. World History – 44%
  2. Geography – 41%

Format of OSAT World History/Geography Test (018)

It is a computerized test that is conducted at testing centers throughout Oklahoma and the United States. There are 80 selected-response questions and 1 constructed-response question. Multiple choice questions are from the sections World History and Geography which constitutes 85% of the test. The constructed response question is based on World History which constitutes 15% of the test.

The duration of the test is 4 hours and 15 minutes. 15 minutes are reserved for the CBT tutorial and nondisclosure agreement and 4 hours is the actual testing time. No reference material is provided during the exam.

How to Apply for OSAT World History/Geography Test (018)

The first and foremost thing is to finish the OGET test. After acquiring an online profile and teaching ID for the state of Oklahoma, all potential candidates need to pay a small fee for taking the test. After this, they are eligible to take the OSAT 018 test in the next year. The testing fee consists of:

  • $80 for taking the test
  • $25 as a CBT fee
  • $30 registration processing fee

The passing score for the OSAT World History/Geography Test (018) is anything above 240 points.
