OSAT Superintendent Exam


The state of Oklahoma demands all educators to assess their knowledge in certain subject areas, in which they plan on working in the future. The OSAT Superintendent exam has six subareas, according to which the test is also conducted, and these include:

  2. Instructional Leadership and Professional Development
  3. Strategic Leadership
  4. Organizational, Operational, and Resource Management
  5. Educational Contexts, Stakeholder Relationships, and Legal/Ethical Guidelines
  6. Organizational Management
  7. These subareas make sure all teachers have competencies that are in line with standards before entering the public school domain. This exam might question their types of leadership, learning type, development, management, education, personal relations, and other types of organization.

    Format of OSAT Superintendent Exam

    This test is in line with state policies and standards, this means it is a Computer-Based test, that can be taken at different testing sites around the state of Oklahoma and the US. It is a longer test with:

    • 80 selected-response questions in the form of multiple-choice questions
    • 2 constructed-response assignments in the form of essays
    • Timed test with up to 5 hours and 15 minutes duration
    • Also, the OSAT Superintendent exam is available by appointment year-round, from Monday through Saturday and excluding some holidays.

      How to Apply for OSAT Superintendent Exam

      For applying to the OSAT Superintendent Exam, a teacher first needs to register online on the official state testing site. After filling out their information, one needs to pay a testing fee, which is a total of $175. This means, $120 makes the official testing fee, $25 is a CBT fee, and a $30 registration processing fee. After paying the fee, one is eligible to take the test for the next year. After the fee is paid, you can choose where and when to take the test. After applying for the test, the only thing you need to focus on is to make a study plan and study hard.

      Scores for OSAT Superintendent Exam

      The final score of the test is made up of certain percentages of the subareas, which are:

      • Visionary Leadership and Culture of Learning with 17%
      • Instructional Leadership and Professional Development with 18%
      • Strategic Leadership with 15%
      • Organizational, Operational, and Resource Management with 17%
      • Educational Contexts, Stakeholder Relationships, and Legal/Ethical Guidelines with 18%
      • Organizational Management with 15%

      A passing score for this test is considered everything above 240 points, and the results are available online. The official testing results are administered on certain dates, and these are visible on the official testing site.
