GACE Mathematics Exam Study Guide


Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. It is on the part of educator that how he portrays the image of this subject on the minds of students. This capability of the educator is assessed by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. GPSC board conducts GACE Mathematics Exam to give certification to the eligible educators. Candidate getting this certification earns the permission to teach in the Georgia State.

GPSC board provides various facilities for the ease of the candidate. Candidate can file the application form through any of the following medium-

  2. Mail
  3. Telephone

Candidate can give the exam in any of the format i.e pen pencil format or computer based. However candidate should not forget to sign the answer document or application form otherwise it will be declared null and void.

Eligibility for GACE Mathematics Exam


To appear for GACE Mathematics Exam, candidate should meet all the eligibility criteria listed by board. For getting renewable certification candidate should have bachelor degree and certification from the state approved college. Moreover if the candidate is only enrolled in the certification program then he can apply for the non renewable certification.

  • Calculus

Format of GACE Mathematics Exam


GACE Mathematics Exam involves two sub tests. Each sub test involve objective and subjective questions.

Sub test I

  • Number system 16 objective questions
  • Algebra - 22 objective questions and 1 subjective question
  • Calculus 22 objective questions and 1 subjective question

Sub test II

  • Geometry 22 objective questions & 1 subjective question
  • Data analysis 22 objective questions & 1 subjective question
  • Mathematical processes 16 objective questions

Scoring of GACE Mathematics Exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification. If the candidate falls short of marks in the exam then he is liable to appear again after the period of 30 days.
