GACE Family and Consumer Sciences Education Exam Study Guide


Family and consumer science is the subject which deals with the daily needs and requirements of human beings. GACE Family and Consumer Sciences Education Exam tests the competencies of the educator to teach this subject to the students in Georgia State. This exam is conducted by Georgia Professional Standards Commission under the board of Georgia Assessment for the Certification of Educators. GACE Family and Consumer Sciences Education Exam consist of two sub tests. Candidate needs to pass in each of the sub test to get the certification from the board.

Eligibility for GACE Family and Consumer Sciences Education Exam


To appear for GACE Family and Consumer Sciences Education Exam, candidate should meet all the eligibility criteria listed by the board.

For renewable certification- candidate should have bachelor degree and certification from the state approved college

For non renewable certification- candidate should have bachelor degree and should be enrolled in any certification program run by state approved college.

Candidate should study these topics well to get good marks in the exam.

Format of GACE Family and Consumer Sciences Education Exam


Sub test I

  • Relationship issues 16 objective questions
  • Parenting 11 objective questions and 1 subjective question
  • Well being 16 objective questions
  • Balanced Diet 17 objective and 1 subjective question

Sub test II

  • Economics 16 objective questions and 1 subjective question
  • Interiors 16 objective questions and 1 subjective question
  • Business development 28 objective questions

Scoring of GACE Family and Consumer Sciences Education Exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks. While scoring, 80 % weightage is given to objective questions and 20 % to subjective answers.
