NYSTCE Liberal Arts and Science Test is an exam which a candidate needs to appear for getting the certification in any content specialty test. Eligibility for NYSTCE Liberal Arts and Science Test


To appear for NYSTCE Liberal Arts and Science Test, candidate should fulfill all the eligibility conditions issued by the board. Candidate should have bachelor degree from state or national university. Candidate should also have two hours of workshop certification in school violence prevention and identification of child abuse field. Candidate should clear fingerprints round to proceed for certification process.

Format of NYSTCE Liberal Arts and Science Test


NYSTCE Liberal Arts and Science Test include 80 multiple choice questions and one subjective query. Candidate needs to score at least 220 marks out of 300 to get the certification from the education board. If the candidate falls short of the marks in the exam then he is liable to appear again in the assessment after the period of 30 days. The total duration for completing the exam is 240 minutes. Candidate should manage the time well to attempt all questions in the exam.

  • Technological processes in Mathematics (23%) problem solving process, logical conclusions, representing mathematical ideas and terms, numerical, geometrical and algebraic relationships, concept and principles used in science and technology, Cultural importance of mathematics and science.
  • Society Awareness (19%) interrelationships between various disciples of social science, historical and contemporary arguments, perspectives and priorities of various social science disciplines, visual representation of historical facts and figures.
  • Humanities (19%) visual performing arts of different periods and culture, relationship of time period and visual and performing arts, themes and forms in literature, relationship between works of different era literature
  • Communication and researching skills (19%) obtaining information from different sources, interpretation written texts treating literary content, interpreting information from traditional and electronic source.
  • Writing expression (20%) a constructive query is formed from the topic “developed composition in American English”.
