Eligibility for NYSTCE Biology Exam
There are two levels of certification for New York State Educators initial and professional. Both these certifications have different eligibility requirements. For initial certification candidate needs to be a bachelor degree holder from state or national university. Candidate should also get fingerprinting clearance to proceed for the certification process. Other than this, candidate should have also attended child abuse identification workshop and school violence prevention workshop for two hours each. To get liable for getting the certification candidate needs to get passing marks in Liberal Arts and Science Test and Assistant of Teaching Skills Exam also other than in NYSTCE Biology Exam.
Format of NYSTCE Biology Exam
NYSTCE Biology Exam is evaluated on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification. There are 90 multiple choice questions and one subjective question in the exam. Total duration for completing the exam is four hours. Hence candidate should manage time well to attempt maximum questions. In case the candidate falls short of the marks, then he/she is liable to appear again in the exam after the period of 30 days.
