Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Exam

The Common Core State Standards were first attempted for launch in 2009. These standards were developed by state governors and commissioners in the field of education, from all around the states and territories of the USA. The biggest honor for this success takes the National Governors Association Center for best practices and Council of Chief State School Officers, which saw the positive sides of learning in a real-world setting for students. These sets of standards were a school initiative from kindergarten to grade 12, with the goal of offering students the same standards to learn on, regardless of where they live. The finalization of the test should offer students finishing school a smooth entrance into their college or career.

Eligibility for Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Exam

Since this initiative is a very large attempt in the USA, for offering the same standards and expectations for a students' educational takeaway in grades K-12, forty-eight states have started forming their public schooling on these sets of standards. This means all public schooling education in forty-eight states is in line with the Common Core standards in the fields of writing and reading. Almost all public school students in the USA fall under the educational or testing eligibility of the Common Core.

Syllabus of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Exam

The Common Core proposes standards in two fields of study:

English language arts standards - Offer standards for both English but also History or Social studies, Science and Technical classes. The standards establish guidelines for English language arts - ELA from kindergarten to grade 12. The standards are there because all students must learn to read, write, speak, listen, and use language in different sets of content areas, the Common Core promotes literacy skills required for college and career. The ELA tests include the following assessment points:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking and listening
  • Language
  • Media and Technology

Mathematics standards - The Common Core focuses the students' knowledge on a clear and to-the-point set of math skills. Students will learn mathematical concepts in an organized way, during the school year and between grades. The Math assessments come in different sets which are prepared for different grades, these are as follows:

Format of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Exam

Even though the Standards are in use, all states still have their own flexibility and authority to choose the types of assessments they will use, for what they believe to be the best measurement for statewide educational standards. They can choose between a computer or pen and paper type of test, a program or internet-based and of course can choose between multiple choice and open answer questions. In conclusion, it is up to the state’s educational board.

The Common Core offers a set of principles in both Mathematics and English Language arts, and these include:

Mathematics standards

  1. Making sense of problems and solving them
  2. Reasoning in the abstract and quantitative
  3. Constructing arguments and critique
  4. Modeling with maths
  5. Using tools strategically
  6. Attending to precision
  7. Looking for and make use of structure
  8. Looking for reasoning

  5. How to Apply for Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Exam

All students, from Kindergarten to grade 12, can take a test that is in line with Common Core if their state has adopted the standards in their public school education. Scores for Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Exam

Since the assessment types are negotiable for different states, scoring and feedback are also individual to the states, from which the students come from. Many states worked with others to develop unified assessments that offer broad feedback to parents, teachers, and professionals. All of this is with one goal, to ensure all students have the skills for success in college, career, and life.
