ILTS English Language Arts Exam
As per the standards set by the Illinois State Board of Education, the ILTS- Illinois Licensure Testing System exam has been custom designed. It has been developed by the Evaluation System group of Pearson to meet the Illinois needs and requirements related to the licensure of the candidates.

- Reading- 28% Nature and importance of reading, knowledge of selection and use of material to plan reading instruction
- Writing and Research- 22% Teaching and assessing the candidate's knowledge, words identification, knowledge of composition.
- Speaking and Listening- 39% Covers application of the knowledge of principles approaches for developing skills for presenting, speaking, and participating in academic discussions.
- Literature- 11%
It will also cover the questions that are related to the sequence of resources, ethics in research and reporting, oral communication components, oral presentations, communication process, adapting to communication to different audiences, the historical development of genres, literary elements, techniques, and skills for reading literature. All the questions in the exam have been designed to gauge not just your understanding of the subject matter field but also the complete perspective of educating the students in the nuances of the subject.
Format for ILTS English Language Arts Exam
It is a computer-based exam and is offered at testing centers across the US. It consists of 125 multiple-choice questions. The allotted time for the candidates to complete the exam is 3 hours and 45 minutes.
How to Apply for ILTS English Language Arts Exam?
Candidates can apply online for the exam and the availability for the same is round the year. Test sites are available in Illinois and across other states in the US. To find the testing center, the candidate can go to the testing center website, and here the candidate can create an ILTS account and check the testing dates, and follows the instructions.
USD 122 fees is applicable for the registration of the examination.
The number of correctly answered questions is used to identify the scaled score. They are scaled to a number in the range of 100-300. Candidates must score 240 marks to qualify for the exam.
