Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Exam CSCS Test Preparation Study Guide


The CSCS exam was developed in 1985 with the purpose of identifying individuals who have the ability to develop and modify strength and conditioning programs for athletes.

Format of The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Exam:


The CSCS exam is offered in two formats- paper-and-pencil and computer-based format. The exam is divided into following two sections:
Scientific Foundations
This section consists of 90 multiple-choice questions of which 80 are scored while 10 are pretest. It tests a candidate's knowledge in the following areas:
Exercise Sciences
Nutrition
Practical/Applied
This section consists of 120 multiple-choice questions of which 110 are scored while 10 are pretest. It tests the candidates in following areas:
Program Design
Exercise Techniques
Testing and Evaluation
Organization/Administration
