The College Math Placement Test (MPT) is conducted to help students evaluate their knowledge from previous math courses. Each University may have different levels of test for MPT. for example university of arligton has
- Orientation: MPT Students have 30 minutes to complete 7 ungraded questions)
- Algebra: MPT Test seekers have 90 minutes to complete 25 questions
- Precalculus : MPT have 60 minutes to complete 20 questions
Based on the score student of MPT may be assigned the mathematics course
However University of Maryland has the Elementary Algebra version of the math placement test has approximately 12 questions and tests students in the following areas. It tests the students on
- Operations with integers and rational numbers
- Operations with algebraic expressions
- Solutions of equations, inequalities and word problems; solving of equations
